Provincial Youth Mission Trip: “You Give Us Hope” 

Last summer, this diocese along with 170 other youth and adults from Province Four, were a part of a mission trip in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.  For a week, we lived, served, prayed and grew together as we contributed to the Katrina relief efforts.  We gutted houses in hazmat suits, cleaned out warehouses, constructed a labyrinth from the ruins of a chapel, but perhaps most importantly we brought hope to the people in the community. 

So again we traveled by vans back to Bay Saint Louis to offer whatever assistance we can to the people of Mississippi.  This involved painting houses, clearing land or simply just sitting down and listening to those whom have gone through so much and need to tell their story.  We have a 15 minute video created from last summer’s experience and would be willing to come to any parish to share this story.
